Annual Meeting Amenities & Family Programs

SVIN is happy to offer a family friendly atmosphere at our in-person Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ. Family-friendly activities will be offered on-site during our conference at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass. In addition, a full line of services and amenities will be offered to SVIN attendees and guests during the conference. Please see further details below.

Jewelry Making Class – Join Yolanda Hart Stevens, Pee-Posh artist, as she demonstrates and discusses the cultural significance of beadwork as guests make their own creations.

Selfie Scavenger Hunt – A fun, indoor, property-wide selfie scavenger hunt while learning about the cultural elements of the resort. 

Culinary Class – Hands on class to create your very own “chemeith”, the local flatbread made by both tribes.

Canvas & Mocktails – Join the fun as you learn from a local artist while painting a scenery inspired by the local area. 

Pottery Making Class – Learn from a local artist on the fundamentals of pottery making.  Create and design your own pottery piece to take home. 

Flora & Fauna Nature Walk – Enjoy an outdoor walk to learn more about the plants and animals that call Wild Horse Pass “home”. 

 

Friday, November 19, 2021 

Gourd Painting – Learn how gourds are used by the Akimel O’otham (Pima) and Pee-Posh (Maricopa) while you design and paint your own gourd to take home.

Culinary Class – Hands on class to create your very own “chemeith”, the local flatbread made by both tribes.

Outdoor Selfie Scavenger Hunt – A fun, outdoor, property-wide selfie scavenger hunt while learning about the cultural elements of the resort.
